GAZA | Post-War Reconstruction?
Can Gaza be rebuilt? Israel's war against Hamas has led to catastrophic losses and extensive damage. The conflict, marked by a huge aerial bombing campaign and a ground invasion by Israeli forces, has resulted in the deaths of approximately 35,000 people, injuries to nearly 80,000, and forced over a million people to flee. The estimated infrastructure damage is around $18.5 billion, severely affecting housing, healthcare, education, and commercial sectors. But just how can Gaza be reconstructed?
Reconstruction will require a multifaceted approach involving immediate humanitarian aid and long-term rebuilding and development. This includes stabilising the territory and establishing a new adm...

In late 2023, the political landscape in Slovakia shifted significantly when Robert Fico, a former prime minister known for his pro-Russian stance, was re-elected as head of a coalition government. This has caused concern among Western allies as Slovakia has halted its military support to Ukraine. However, recent actions by the Slovak government indicate a potential shift in its position, raisi...

In April 2024, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak suggested that he would be prepared to see Britain to exit the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) if it hampers the government's immigration policies. This stance has sparked controversy, as it would lead to Britain leaving the Council of Europe, which oversees democracy and human rights across the continent. Seen by many as another Brexit, such...

As the war in Gaza continues, tensions between the United States and Israel are growing. This came to a head on 25 March 2024. After vetoing three draft Security Council resolutions calling for a ceasefire, the US abstained on the latest vote, thus allowing the resolution to pass. This led to accusations from the Israeli government that Washington was hampering its effort to defeat Hamas. Set a...

While Russia has warned that any use of force would be seen as an attack against the Russian Federation, some nevertheless believe that the war in Ukraine has provided Moldova with a prime opportunity to reassert soverei...

The civil war in Sudan is quickly becoming the world's most dire humanitarian crisis. As the war in Ukraine reaches a pivotal moment, a debate has emerged about whether NATO should play a more direct role in the conflict. Could Palestine be on course for full international recognition and UN membership? In January 2024, the British Foreign Secretary, Lord Cameron, suggested that the United Kingdom may reverse its longstanding policy and recognise a Palestinian state before a final definitive agreement with Israel. Since then, the United States and France have also suggested that they are investigating the possib...

The start of 2024 saw Bashkortostan, Russia's most populous republic, erupt in violent protests, highlighting the growing unrest and ethnic tensions within the country. SOUTH AFRICA | Apartheid's Fake States?
Let’s be honest here…who would you rather have as a neighbor, Muslim or Jewish?
Btw, I expect your comment. If no such it will mean you are not firm on the statenents you did.
Please don’t make silly comments like this. I get hundreds, sometimes thousands, of comments a day. I don’t see them all. I saw this and replied. But an absence of a reply doesn’t mean that I’m not sure about my points. It just means I may not have seen a particular comment!
It's a very biased analysis. In terms of nation, yes, they are aeparate nation (in the definitionof the nation there is very important point - part of one country). But in terms of the language, how you will explain the folloing maps in regards of the Slavic languages: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_(grammar) And pap.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Number_of_grammatical_cases_hic01.png. You are prophesor, right? Austria is a separate nation from german nation, but the language is still Deuch. Perhaps, with some specifics.
Points all well taken, but that’s not my point. My point is that Bulgaria is angry for reasons I don’t think people in Bulgaria really understand. They just feel unhappy about something, but don’t know what it is really. Macedonian may be close to Bulgarian, but languages evolve. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter that much. Let them be. In fact, if Bulgaria had managed things a bit more intelligently, all this could have been avoided. As it is, Bulgaria has made matters worse. It has been extremely badly handled.
@@JamesKerLindsay "In fact, if Bulgaria had managed things a little bit more intelligently, all this could have been avoided." Believe me, I also don't agree with the policy and the situation. You blame the current bg policy. So, what is your recipe?
In case the U.S would not be part of NATO the entire "tension landscape" would be different. Then Russia would not have any existential dangers to await at their doorstep. That would be a great relief to Europe although from all the western media campaigns many still believe Russia is out to overtake their country. Just watch the 2024 Putin annual talk and you realise they will be busy with other stuff than waging war with Europe: ruclips.net/video/LxRiXZOKIXk/видео.html&yt:cc=on
NATO has outlived its usefulness. Europeans started this when they became vocal about eventually bringing Ukraine into NATO. You can claim whatever you want and thumb your nose at Putin, but just remember, Putin can break things. Putin has security concerns that Europe willfully ignored. Now you have a destructive war. Europe pushed Putin into this conflict. I seem to remember that WWI started with alliance pacts that mired the world in The Great War.
Everything is scripted. Beginning from the coming of St. Raffles to the Johore-Singapore Sultanate. Asking for trading port. Singapura then Temasek has Sultan. Not sparsely inhabited like what u said. Then British import workers from China mainland to work on their mine mostly tin and many more. Chinese keep migrate in but the problem start when most of them not going back home eventhough some of them return. Also British put in Indians from British India. And they also refuse to go back due to economy casualties in where their originated. So now the rate of local Malays n foreign labours in malaya Singapore are reach to the extent of imbalance. This also actually hiddenly planned. So theres unrest when immigrants conquering n given the chances in economy compared to the original landlords n the people. This is the stupidest action by the colonial british. So u want Singapore with fluxed with immigrants in every alleys join Malaysia and create imbalance demographic. Immigrants already overpassed the locals in newly independence Malaysia. This all British faults. Imagine Dubai with all the immigrants workers n expats Grant citizenship. DUBAI UAE only has small original population. The country concept running wth foreign workers who know how to get back n has documents/ passport. I don't know where is Chinese n Indian passports/ documents when they arrive Singapura. So narrative of Malaysia expelled Singapore is wrong n totally not accurate. Singapore is one of Malaya and Malaysia how come we easily give the state to others. Clearly problems is with the ethnicity n demographic changing after post British hands. Malaya n Singapore never a Multiethnic country/state before British brought in the immigrants and created the new concept. Singapura is one of Johore Sultanate islands. This is the real history that many already know but still there are a standardised man made script written abt this man made country.
Oh ya.break away from the country that made the Geneva convention. I'm sure nothing bad will happen from a country your air, land and sea locked and have a big debt too
One nation
Yes you are right but the some of the brave people came forward to defend our democracy. And the awakened citizens are participating this Renaissance. And i belive the in the constitution it is the simplest yet a complicated one to change according to a certain ageda(thanks to B.R Ambedkar). This election will be the end of BJP. Jay Hind
Welp…
The comment section here seems like Russia's IRA at work... On a related note, I wouldn't be surprised if today's incident with Slovakia PM is a rumble of more widespread active measures in other states 'open' to Russia. There's certainly precedent for it.
Can you do a video on the Thai Kingdom of Ayuthaya. How the British went to two wars and took the territories belonging to Thailand. How when they decided to give independence to the Malay States they did not return the territories they force the Thais to give up.
Swiss is a true Democracy and its People would never!!! give up its Newtrality. You are talking nonsense!
Did you actually bother to watch the video?
Nein! Nato is evil .Austria and Switzerland should not do this Mistake Newtral Countrys are important worldwide.
Fico isn’t neutral and neither is Slovakia. He justifies Russian aggression and buys oil , fueling their war machine . Some Slovaks still claim they were neutral during World War Two
Why the EU funds a country that serve Russian geopolitical interests is beyond me. Russia has been destabilizing Europe for centuries. Time to throw the Trojan horses out !
Sadly, "Western solidarity" does not tolerate contrary opinions, not even a discordant word. Western arrogance leads us to the third world war.
So, the problem is “Western arrogance”, and not the fact that Russia launched a war of aggression backed by nuclear weapons against an independent sovereign state?
@@JamesKerLindsay there are more than 900 US - NATO military compounds around the world in 5 continents and 2 o 3 Russias ones, whose do is ready to attack whom? You tell me professor.

Not anymore lol
Let them leave NATO. Don’t understand why even remain?
Well now I don't really know what to think after the latest news...

If Modi is an authoritarian, then Joe Biden is a dictator. He literally control other countries according to his will. Thats the epitome of dictatorship
Modi doesn't want India to be like UK, France with Islamic chaos that breaks, wrecks, and demolishes the fabric of society. It's just that UK, France is not as smart as Modi.
Im slovenian but im ashamed that our goverment did this to these people. Noone deserves to be "erased" and so what if they did not get citizenship in time. Thats just evil.
Thank you. Slovenia is a wonderful country in so many ways. But this was certainly one of its darker chapters. It has been amazing to read comments from some people condemning those who didn’t apply in time. They forget that it was a very different time, before the internet. It was also a period when the region was descending into war. There were all sorts of reasons why people might not have applied in time. I give the Brexit example. Even with years of warning about the need to apply for settled status in Britain, hundreds of thousands still failed to meet the deadline. That didn’t mean that they all refused to accept Brexit. It meant that a lot of people aren’t aware of things for a variety of reasons, including illness and mental health issues.
"Puts at risk".... we'll take the risk
Why? Seriously!? Why would you want to remove something that offers people protection against the overreach of government.
@@JamesKerLindsayhi James, thanks for the reply, imo because whilst we may not be happy with our government at all times, we the people are not savages. Democracy fundamentally relies on us being able to comprehend the responsibility it instrusts to us, given that we the people vote (well not so much uk party candidates), but get to vote on parties, their policies, it may be obvious to say that a similar yet different human rights charter will need to be created. The UK for a long time has arguably required a citizens human rights charter or a charter similar to the US constitution that protects the citizens rights (especially in an age of constant tech advancement and an ever changing polarising geo-pol setting). I personally believe once it is revoked, the need for a new one will naturally arise, though In this situation, it is up to the UK to decide the details. Keeping something that isn't fit or no longer suitable in place untill enough people recognises it has a overall harmful impact, is why many are losing faith in democracy, delay, debate, delay, for another decade, and one political party prays the other party bare the weight of the painful conversation to come... politics and more politics getting in the way of governance being able to act in time or with clear intention. I do love my history, so I'd like to say on "risk", A general who takes no risks, is a general with no plans, for there is risk in every plan. (and that's a quote from me) Imo risk also determines your desire to make good of something. If your willing to risk it, your also willing to make it work.
Absolutely insane to try to reunite Cyprus. The two communities don't trust each other. Just let them be independent and let the two sides vote whether to merge with Greece and Turkey.
I'm seeing a lot of negative and hate comments here and I feel bad for the creator of this video. Just know that less than 1% of these comments are real people and the rest are bots from what they call "BJP IT Cell" wwhose whole job is to spread hate towards whoever talks against modi.
Thank you so much. It really has been incredibly to see. They are truly offensive as well. I’ve deleted more comments on this video than perhaps all my others combined! The irony is that it is all cementing the outside view that India under Modi is taking a very worrying direction. These bots are actually making things worse for India’s standing, not better as they seem to think!
Bro, Indian population with Internet is huge and is active in such conversations , It would be shame to say them as bots What would you call me if I support Modi?
We don't like not trust the West.
I can’t say the West trusts India very much these days either.
As a Swiss citizen, I was always proud of my nations neutrality. I was bitterly disappointed when Switzerland threw their neutrality away over Ukraine.
Why? Serious question. Is it right to be neutral when one knows that another country has been attacked unjustly?
